Are we alone in the Universe? Take the opportunity to look at a star. It would take us millions of years to reach it. 

Some of the stars must contain intelligent life.

I have pondered this question since I was a boy . It is time to write about it

Alien Encounter imagines aliens from Gaia trying, unsuccesfully to understand what motivates the only other sentient race they have encountered. Earth is, to them illogical and driven by emotion, an attribute they have tried to suppress as meaningless.

The Gaian Commander is exiled for her failure. (Gaia is a matriarchy based on thirdings, not couples) She is helped by a lonely scientist in the South Australian desert to regain her command and that is just the start of their friendship and further adventure on Gaia iself
